Laurie Lawrence (OA), has developed his learn-to-swim and coaching philosophies through more than 50 years of teaching, coaching, and industry leadership. Throughout his career, swimmers he coached and mentored contributed to an impressive Olympic medal tally of 10 gold, 11 silver, and 12 bronze medals. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Australian swimming, Laurie was an integral member of the Australian Olympic Team at every Olympic Games from 1996 to 2012 and was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for his distinguished service to sport and water safety.

Drawing on decades of experience across the swimming industry, Laurie created World Wide Swim School to share his knowledge, teaching philosophies, and water safety expertise with swim teachers, coaches, parents, and aquatic professionals around the world.
