Implement Best Practice in Child Safety

need to take steps to prevent child abuse in all its forms. Implementing best practice

Why Child Safe Training is Important

Minimise the Risk of Harm

Child Safety is a shared responsibility across the whole Swim School. Minimise the risks of harm and abuse to children and young people.

All Swim School staff have legal obligations and a duty of care towards children. Know your child safe legal and reporting obligations.

Read the Signs of Abuse

Be prepared and confident in recognising and responding appropriately to allegations, concerns and disclosures of child abuse.

Apply the Standards

Know what the Child Safe Standards are and how the Standards apply in the aquatic setting to ensure compliance with legal reforms.

Become a Child Safe Professional

World Wide Swim School has partner with Child Safeguard to provide the aquatics industry with expert training, knowledge and resources on Child Safety and the 10 Child Safe Standards. As a swim teacher, deck supervisor and manager, we all have an obligation to provide a child safe environment for the children and families attending our facilities.

The Child Safe Standards:

What You Need to Know

The Royal Commission inquiry into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse was undertaken from 2013-2017. One of the Royal Commission’s key recommendations was that all child-related organisations should implement the Child Safe Standards.

These standards are considered to be the 10 critical elements that are necessary to create a safer environment for children and young people.

The module provided great explanations!

The module did a great job at explaining the science behind how/why people will respond to experiences. I enjoyed all of it - I believe it’s a beautiful thing to see the awareness of child safety and how we can positively help children enjoy swimming long term.

A significant step closer to compliance with the Child Safe Standards

I highly recommend Child Safe Training to every swim school. The online training is simple, easy to use and understand, and covers some important aspects of child safety. It is a step-by-step process to follow working toward meeting the 10 Child Safe Standards. I felt comfortable that we were a significant step closer to compliance with the Child Safe Standards and ensuring our instructors understood the importance of child safety.

Belinda , Swim School Owner

Thank you for expanding awareness!

It was a good reminder to insure the child feels safe and comfortable in the environment and not to make them do things they don’t feel comfortable with. Thank you for expanding the awareness to all of our team, it not only makes a big step forward in our industry but also in the world.
